Jesse came about as an experiment, I was wanted to see if I could make a character that was more serious, in RP style, than Woody, However, I wanted to keep that youthful play and banter that I like about Woody, so I made a child character. Not to say that there are not many child characters in the RDI, I have seen plenty, but I also wanted my child character to be an adventurer of sorts. A rough and tumble kind of kid with attitude, but still in need touch with his childhood. Most child characters I had also seen, had come from RhyDin, or worlds similar to RhyDin, I wanted Jesse to be from Earth. A regular kid, lost in a world of magic. So I made Jesse up, gave him four years of living on the streets of RhyDin under his belt, and turned him loose in my imagination.

Now Jesse is from Los Angeles circa 2002. He arrived in RhyDin when he was eight years old, on a warm summer night during a summer storm, this was most fortunate as it would allow him to learn enough about the new city to survive the up coming winter. I also gave him a small history with a few of the local gangs of street urchins, and an elven boy named Tiver. These few background stories give me something to work with when explaining how one so young could survive nearly alone. Simply put, like the gangs of small boys in any Dickens novel, he learned how to steal, and the power of large numbers of small people.

His home on Earth was not a happy one, he was the only child of a single parent, his mother. He had never met his father, and disliked his mothers poor choices in boyfriends. In fact he was fleeing from one of his mothers abusive boyfriends when he ended up in RhyDin, a fact he does not disclose to anyone. Like the average child, he misses his mother, and the world he was taken from, but in his heart he loves the freedom RhyDin gives him. This is a small emotional struggle he deals with, but it is also one that diminishes with everyday that passes.

Physical Description

Jesse is a twelve year old, human male, with light brown, or dark blond hair, and hazel eyes. Now keeps his hair slightly longer than shoulder length, as to blend in with the locals, but he had worn his hair in a mohawk cut for a time. However, unusual hair styles for a thief trying to blend in to a crowd is not good. His usual style of dress is a dark green wool tunic, dark blue leather pants, knee high soft leather boots. He wears a elven dagger on his left hip, life on the streets of RhyDin without a knife is short. During the winter months he will sport extra clothing and a heavy cloak. Life has been hard the last four years, not that they had been easy on Earth. Diminished nutrition has Jesse to be shorter than the average kid his age from Los Angeles today. He stands four feet seven inches and is about 70 pounds.

I do not have a picture for Jesse, nor do I plan to make one anytime soon. Jesse is a pretty simple character in the way he looks, Anyone with almost no imagination can make a mental picture of the young boy.
